Privacy Policy

The short version: StoryKnow does not collect your personal data. Your photos, voice recordings, and stories stay on your device. There are no accounts, no analytics, and no tracking. We have no servers that store your content.
This Privacy Policy explains how StoryKnow (“the app,” “we,” “us”), a product of Awe Ways LLC, handles your information. By using StoryKnow you agree to this policy.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share personal information. Specifically, StoryKnow does not:
- Require an account, sign-up, email address, or login.
- Upload your photos, voice recordings, or stories to any server.
- Use analytics, advertising, tracking, or third-party marketing tools.
- Access your location or contacts.
Information that stays on your device
Everything you create in StoryKnow is stored locally on your device and remains under your control:
- Photos. With your permission, StoryKnow accesses your camera or photo library so you can add images to a story. Cartoon-style illustrations are generated on your device; photos are never sent anywhere.
- Voice recordings. With your permission, StoryKnow uses the microphone so you can narrate a story in your own voice. Recordings are saved only on your device.
- Stories and settings. The stories you create and your app preferences are saved on your device.
If you delete a story, or delete the app, the associated content is removed from your device.
Device permissions
StoryKnow asks for these permissions only to provide its features, and only when you use them:
- Camera — to take a photo for a story panel.
- Photo Library — to choose an existing photo for a story panel.
- Microphone — to record your own narration.
You can change these permissions at any time in your device Settings. StoryKnow works without them, using bundled stock images and built-in text-to-speech.
Purchases
StoryKnow offers an optional in-app purchase to unlock additional story credits. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never receive or store your payment card details. Apple's handling of purchase data is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
Children's privacy
StoryKnow is designed to be used by parents, caregivers, educators, and therapists to create stories for children. Because the app does not collect personal information from anyone — including children — no personal data about a child is gathered, transmitted, or shared. Any photos or recordings of a child remain solely on the device of the adult who created them.
Data security
Because your content never leaves your device, it is protected by your device's own security (such as your passcode and device encryption). We recommend keeping your device software up to date.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles information, we will update this page and revise the effective date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
